PARENT PARTNERSHIP
TDSA is honored to partner with parents to teach and raise their precious children. All partners have the child’s best interest in mind; each has a role and we all trust one another. There is ongoing communication between teachers, administrators, support staff, and parents on their child’s progress and needs. Weekly class updates and schoolwide newsletters highlight happenings. Parents can email teachers with concerns at any point.
Parents are encouraged to volunteer and support the school. The Parent Teacher Association orchestrates Purim Shalach Manot packages, a Scholastic Book Fair, teacher appreciation gifts, a fun run, carnivals, and bashes offering parents and families a chance to socialize and connect. Students notice parent involvement and interest in the success and camaraderie of their school.
When parents are involved in their children’s schooling, students show higher academic achievement, school engagement, and motivation, according to a 2019 American Psychological Association review of 448 independent studies on parent involvement.*
