This Monday, our fifth grade girls had an incredible opportunity. They visited the Georgia State House and were able to see governance in action. The students received a tour of the state capital building and were able to observe the state senate in session where they witnessed a proclamation being passed in honor of Black History Month. The tour guides were so impressed with our students' middos that they even received a bonus tour of the Secretary of State’s office and got to see the official seal used to certify all new state laws. The girls capped off their packed tour with a visit to the fourth floor museum where they completed a scavenger hunt to learn more about state history. They even roped a state trooper into the fun to help them complete the scavenger hunt!
