Our classroom transformed into a bustling bakery as the girls dressed up as chefs and dived into an exciting, hands-on math adventure! The girls became master multiplication "bakers" while reinforcing their understanding of arrays, the commutative property, the distributive property, fact families, and problem-solving—all through engaging, real-world applications. Each center was designed as a fun-filled bakery challenge: Bakery Stories had students cooking up multiplication and division word problems, while Pie Fact Triangles and Bakery Fact Spin helped sharpen fact fluency in a delicious way. Distributive Baking Pans and Commutative Sheet Cakes brought properties of multiplication to life, and in You’re the Baker: Distributive Cake and Array Cake, students took charge of designing their own mathematical masterpieces. The grand finale? We put our learning to the test by creating real edible array "cakes" using graham crackers, marshmallows, frosting, and chocolate chips! It was a sweet and memorable way to reinforce multiplication fluency—learning has never been so delicious!
