In STEAM our fourth grade boys are learning all about how energy works. They learned that energy can be stored-even in simple things like rubber bands. To demonstrate this concept the boys built a zipline and constructed flyers using propellers, sticks and rubber bands. After winding the rubber bands, they attached their flyers to the ziplines and released them, watching how the stored energy propelled the flyers forward across the zipline.
