Veteran Visit

On Monday, Veteran’s Day, we welcomed a special visitor, Major Gavin Ellman, Judah’s father.. Major Ellman is in the US Army National Guard and served in Iraq and Afghanistan. The students generated a list of excellent questions and were excited to find out the answers. We learned all about his uniform,  heard about his service for our country, how he jumped out of airplanes, and how he trains and practices to stay stong so he can carry all his heavy equipment (we also practiced push-ups and jumping jacks). We learned how to properly salute, looked at his Army issued siddur, saw pictures of his boxes of kosher food he carried with him, and of course, we said “THANK YOU!” Major Ellman told us that the best way to stay brave is to daven and trust in Hashem!
